May Day's Now Past
The sweet
glare of dawn-break
Adorns
the morning dew;
There's a
balmy blanket of countless hues arising...
Violet tulips trade tepid daffodils, one by one, as
Greens grow more verdant and the overhead
Leaf-canopy gradually grows more lush...
The garden beds rejoice;
The fat
robins fetch an extra voice;
The spring's azure light gathers 'round
Speckled
nests containing open mouths;
And while
we watch in utter wonder,
There's a
certain niggling question:
What took so long ???
