“You have fled, Summertime!”
By the wind of Fall’s wing…
Beating ever so smug and serene.
Lest you guess that I care,
I’ll adopt a grand air;
Feigning smooth nonchalance:
(Why play fair ??)
Sad descent! Summertime,
For you left on a whim,
As Fall’s magic plies
Leaves from their limbs.
Seems the night air’s been smiling,
Crafting plans for beguiling,
Every harvest that pours past its rim.
Yet … as leaves start to huddle,
And Fall’s colors grow muddled;
Summer-haze gathers praise
Where it will…
Makes me dream about
“Long Days”
When earth cradled each sun ray;
Drinking LIFE like fine wine,
… (Soooo divine!).
Thus when memories grow faded,
Winter’s breath lingers jaded, and
Life’s frost withers fruit of all kind;
I’ll just drift back to “those days”
When we danced ‘mid the sunrays;
Then like love, drawn sublime:
